TRAINING

Environmental Management is committed to providing a safe, clean work environment for our employees, subcontractors and clients. We believe the best method to achieve that goal is to have employees properly trained for the duties they perform. Therefore, Environmental Management provides instruction on the skills and knowledge mandated by OSHA, EPA and DOT. Our training programs have been developed based upon regulatory guidance pertaining to handling, storage and transportation of hazardous materials as well as emergency response and corrective action. The employees of Environmental Management each undergo a thorough hands-on training period under an experienced supervisor prior to direct emergency response.

By developing these programs for our use many years ago, we began offering this training to our clients. Environmental Management is currently one of three EPA approved external training providers in Oklahoma. Some of the available courses are as follows:

  • 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Course (HAZWOPER), [29 CFR 1910.120]
  • 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations Course, and Transfer, Storage, Disposal Facility Worker Course, [29 CFR 1910.120 (p)]
  • 24-Hour Emergency Response & Hazardous Materials Team, [1910.120 (q)]
  • 16-Hour Confined Space Entry & Rescue, [29 CFR 1910.146 (g) & (k)]
  • 8-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Course (Refresher) [29 CFR 1910.120]
  • 8-Hour DOT, [49 CFR 171-180]
  • 8-Hour Hazardous Communications Standard "Right to Know" Course, [OSHA 1910.1200]
  • 4-Hour Fire Safety Course
  • 4-Hour Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Chlorine Kits, A, B, & C
  • Instructor Methodology

All of our drivers who transport hazardous materials must complete an in-house drivers’ training program and get a Hazardous Materials endorsement for their Commercial Drivers License.

Our programs, designed, developed, and delivered by our nationally certified professional instructors, meet or exceed specifications of the EPA, RCRA, and OSHA Title 29 CFR requirements. Training presented at our facility features hands-on curriculums in First Aid and CPR; SCBA Equipment; Levels of Protection; Confined Space Entry; and Chlorine Kits A, B, & C. Our chlorine classes feature 150-pound cylinders, one-ton containers, and a chlorine tank car on tracks.

Continuing with the concept that hands-on training provides more practical knowledge, our training grounds include a mock railway setting, highway tankers, a portable rail car dome, an underground confined space entry tank, cylinder coffins, and a variety training aides.
