EMERGENCY RESPONSE

We all know that accidents are an unavoidable risk when conducting business. We are also acutely aware of the confusion that accompanies a major incident such as a hazardous materials spill. To help you minimize your risk and the inevitable confusion involved in a major incident, Environmental Management will work with you to develop an Emergency Spill Response Contingency Plan specifically to cover the unique requirements of your company. We focus on regulatory issues and problems to allow you to continue to focus on your business operations.

However, despite the best planning and preventative efforts, accidents do happen that are beyond your control. When that unavoidable accident does occur, Environmental Management provides you with a single telephone number to call for all your emergency response needs. Your call activates our highly integrated team of trained project managers and emergency response coordinators on duty 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to your emergency. We maintain a nationwide network of respected and seasoned spill-response subcontractors to respond to incidents throughout North America.

When a call is received, the on-call project manager is contacted, if the incident occurs after business hours, the Project Manager will be contacted by our answering service. The Project Manager will begin immediate action to contact the company representative who made the initial report to obtain all available information. Once the location and severity of the spill is known, the Project Manager will alert other members of the on-call emergency response team. All responders are equipped with cellular phones and pagers that allow them to maintain communications with the rest of the response team while they are en route.

If your incident location is outside our immediate response area, we will contact one of our reliable, efficient subcontractors to assist us in responding to your incident. Each of our subcontractors must meet our own rigorous standards for performance, cost-effectiveness, and safety. Your emergency response incident will be managed from initial phone call notification to final closure report by one of our highly trained, experienced project managers regardless of where the incident occurred. For large or complicated projects we will dispatch one of our own project managers to provide on-site management of the incident.

The size, severity or location of the incident may require that we implement an Incident Command System (ICS) either in conjunction with the local, state or federal regulatory agencies, or as a separate entity, run by one of Environmental Management's trained incident commanders.

Once the project is completed, Environmental Management will compile all information into a comprehensive report, completely documented with photographs. If a report is required to be provided to a regulatory agency, Environmental Management will complete that report and forward it to your company for review then transmit to the requiring agency.
