Product and Damaged Freight Distribution Program

Environmental Management is permitted by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) as a transfer station. This status allows us to, among many other services, process damaged freight and off-specification or unused products. View ODEQ Approval Letter.

The program is designed for companies to ship their materials to a central location, usually an Oklahoma City terminal, and then to deliver the materials directly to our terminal. If a company did not choose this option, Environmental Management could arrange for transportation of materials on a case-by-case basis or for all of your transportation needs. We would take possession and responsibility for the management of these materials at this time. One of the main advantages of this program would be the reduction of your company's liability. For the damaged freight pricing to apply, your company would be required to properly label the materials and provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), preferably attached to the container. Any labor associated with obtaining MSDS's, arranging for transportation, etc., would be charged according to the standard Environmental Management Rate Sheet.

Environmental Management has a tracking system which would allow your company to know where all materials were routed. When materials are received at our terminal, they are sorted according to type (i.e. paint, cleaning materials, etc.) and an inventory is taken. Those materials which can be used for "their original intended purpose" will be placed in a holding area for a 30-day period. We will not sell any of the materials, but will donate them to various non-profit, governmental, or private groups. Efforts will be made to utilize as many materials as possible. A receipt will be kept on file for all donated items.

Those items which cannot be distributed within the 30-day period will be declared a waste. Environmental Management will be listed as the generator of record and will dispose of materials in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
