DISPOSAL & TRANSPORTATION
Disposal
Hazardous waste can be anything from household bleach to highly toxic chemicals. As a producer, transporter or end user you are required to keep track of the material from the time it enters your facility until it leaves as hazardous waste. In some cases you are responsible for it even after you have disposed of it. Thus, it is essential that your waste is properly identified and the wastestream characterized and handled in accordance with local, state and federal regulatory guidance. At Environmental Management, we are committed to assisting you in the processing of your facility's waste properly, in the most environmentally sound, legally compliant, cost-effective manner available. Our OSHA and EPA trained and experienced professional staff continually searches for innovative solutions to your unique problems and relies on their extensive and diverse project experience to develop the "best solution" for each project. In doing so, we utilize only licensed, permitted and insured processing, disposal, and recycling facilities which meet all local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Environmental Management is authorized by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality to operate as a Transfer Station. By using this unique authority, Environmental Management is able to assist customers with all of their waste processing needs, while providing the most cost-effective solutions. We are able to accept and process both hazardous waste, provided it is from a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG), and non-hazardous waste. A CESQG is one who generates less than 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of hazardous waste per month. Disposal of such small amounts can be very costly. To provide a more cost-effective option, CESQG materials are transferred to Environmental Management’s facility to be consolidated with other CESQG’s materials.
Environmental Management also provides turnkey service for the identification, classification, packaging and disposal of laboratory chemicals, samples, and out-of-date materials including their containers. Our professional staff is trained and experienced in dealing with small containers of chemicals of diverse compounds and substances, both known and unknown. We perform chemical treatment and consolidation services at our facility, then use a network of specialized TSD facilities throughout the country for final disposition. We ensure a quick, efficient, cost-effective service that will be in full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
In addition to laboratory packing and disposal services, we also provide highly trained specialists to safely segregate and pack your laboratory chemicals for relocation of your laboratory.
Our trained Technical Representatives will gather representative samples of waste from your site which require disposal. These samples will be submitted to a certified laboratory for analytical characterization. Our Technical Representatives will evaluate your data for a specific wastestream and provide you, our client, with options for the most environmentally sound, cost-effective disposition methods.
Transportation
From the generation point to the final disposition facility, Environmental Management provides you with safe and economical transportation of hazardous and industrial waste. The safe, cost-effective transportation of waste materials is as important as their proper treatment and disposal. For most large quantity loads, Environmental Management will transport your waste to the closest, most cost-effective processing facility. Because of our broad client base that generates a wide variety of wastestreams, we transport small quantities of hazardous and non-hazardous material to our facility, where they are consolidated with other shipments. This consolidation of many wastestreams into one load allows us to achieve price savings that are passed on to the client. The consolidated shipment is then transported by one of our specialized vehicles to a final processing facility.
When we load your waste on our transportation equipment, we assume responsibility for the safe transportation of your waste materials to the final processing facility of your choice. With our intensive driver training program and experience, you can have the utmost confidence that your waste is transported and processed in a regulatory compliant and safe manner. |
